Over the last ten years, Fueled By Ramen has brought the world some of the decade's most exciting and imaginative young rock 'n' roll outfits, from Fall Out Boy and The Academy Is… to Paramore and Panic! At The Disco. Now the label has done it again. Meet Powerspace, your next favorite new band…
The Miami University of Ohio and Chicago, Illinois based combo's upcoming full length debut, "THE KICKS OF PASSION," sees Powerspace unleashing its own inimitable sound, a brightly colored mash-up of pure power pop and electronica-inspired invention. Tracks such as "Powerspace Snap Bracelet" and "Right On, Right Now" literally snap and crackle with the quartet's uncontainable charm and energy. The Powerspace team started coming together in 2004 at Miami University, in Oxford Ohio, when guitarist Tom Schleiter spent his freshman year at Miami playing with Akron, Ohio native drummer Kevin Kane in another band. “The first time I heard Kevin’s drumming, I knew I wanted to play with him,” Schleiter says. “He’s the best drummer I’ve ever worked with.” The feeling was mutual. Says Kevin, “when I heard Tom play, I was amazed.” |

www.myspace.com/breakersbroken
Breakers Broken is a young Chicago-based original rock band that wants YOU to smile, cry, sing, and dance (yes you). A live show's sound extends beyond a trio - the band mixes in elements of electronic music, has members switching instruments, and employs three-part harmonies, percussion breakdowns, and unexpected instrumental segways. Their mission is to truly put on a "show," and if you're a repeat customer, never fear! You can always expect something new to challenge your temporal lobes.
Breakers' performances have been around the block and out of town. They've played over 100 shows in the last two years - a two years that also included finishing school, recording a full length album and an EP, and moving back to their current homebase of Chicago. The shows they've played range from the glitter of Miami Beach clubs, to packed-in, beer-drenched fraternity and sorority parties at Big Ten colleges, to intimate live radio performances, and to the best venues Chicago and other Midwest cities have to offer. All this has been accomplished in a DIY environment, fueled by their determination and musicianship, as well as a clinical case of insomnia. |

www.myspace.com/paravion
Par Avion are a band apart. A band apart from what, they have yet to decide. Mostly, they pretend to enjoy enjoying to pretend to enjoy being absolutely enjoyable. That is, however, assuming that they are pretending. When not pretending, Par Avion may be found not doing such inactivities as not writing music, not frolicking about in fields of allergy inducing dandelion blossoms, and not pretending to not enjoy themselves. In general, they enjoy enjoying themselves, especially when onstage. Par Avion are so impossible to not enjoy, in fact, that they don't have a reputation for pretending to be a dance party, soiree, and tea party all at once, and they may or may not be all three. No one is quite sure, least of all the band themselves. |

FISHING WITH SPOONS
www.myspace.com/fishingwspoons
The FWS saga began very intrepidly with the coming together
of two of skokie's greatest 10-year-old minds. After walking
the plains of hell for three eternities the two demon spawns
rose from underneath the fiery crevace that ahd entombed their
souls. They came together with the one purpose of destroying
the world with their new form of raw and powerful rock music.
After deliberating for several days in their new found human
bodies about how to approach this goal, they conjured up a
plan. They would call upon the evil son of Jesus, a man by
the name of Timbo the Horrible to turn his talent of beating
skulls with sticks into the art of percussion. The three evils
spent years trapped in a cavernous fortress doing nothing
but writing music and rolling in each other's man butter,
which caused the birth of the half human, half devil ape,
Patrick the Genialator. This young spawn was conveniently
born with the power to vomit up some funky ass bass riffs.
And thus the saga continues as FISHING WITH SPOONS reigns
hell fire onto the land! |

TEAM ONE
www.myspace.com/teamonemusic
From the mean streets of the above average
math class, the most original rappers since sugarless gum,
Chicago’s dirtiest sports collaboration since the Black
Sox, TeamOne is in the building. This languid tandem prizes
their musical ability as a treat to fans and themselves. Gifted
with a presence on the mic like this… you must be actin’
if you don’t give them props.
Local action movie star Chuck Norris was recently quoted in
reference to this hip-hop supergroup: “I never really
listened to hip-hop, but Chuck Norris considers TeamOne the
Chuck Norris of music. It’s like a roundhouse kick to
the ear.” Chuck Norris still doesn’t listen to
hip-hop. The guy from Verizon Wireless took one listen and
knew what to "hear now." It was that good. When
Kanye West was asked about the new upcoming hiphop trio, TeamOne,
in a post-concert interview last year, he replied, "Who?”
Tsk tsk, that’s a rock band, Kanye…
These are just a few of TeamOne's many accomplishments since
they broke out onto the Chicago hip-hop scene in 2006. Its
been a long journey since their debut single, and they've
nearly broken backs climbing the mountain of success.
This talented group hones their skills producing, emceeing,
engineering, and occasional sketch comedy through pretty much
everything they do. Think this is overdrive? Well you ain’t
seen nothin yet. One member, Robert K, also holds the record
for long-distance ripping: a regulation city block. Not to
be outdone Emcee/Producer Nima T (aka Entee) was voted "most
likely to be confused with a fish”, which proves pitiful
only to his surname Mr. T. Finally Emcee/Engineer Gallant
is the first known rapper to rock a Grill, thanks in large
part to his horrible orthodontist. Relatedly he also holds
the record by any man for "years with braces."
They’ve gone from No-Names, to Whats-their-faces, to
gracing the cover of their new album, which is due to come
out some time in the next 5 years. Their new take on the hip-hop
genre debuts many guitar, piano and vocal samples, as well
as the beautiful voice of Danielle Pearse. Her priceless addition
to the group gives them one of the most original sounds in
music today, and although the Team now hails collectively
from two different time zones, Danielle always does
her part to bring them back to their studio “The Dungeon.”
